Alizée has gone from fusion to high-concept comfort food. The menu changes seasonally, but look for bistro inspired fare-- roasted chicke, lamb confit, rabbit-- all done with clever sides like parsnip oatmeal.
"Azul 17 Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Lounge brilliantly personifies the restaurant-lounge concept with its sophisticated offering & modern design. The contemporary décor is complete with iridescent ocean blue tiles adorning the walls & sleek white leather lounge seating areas which create a cool and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of hot spots found in South Beach.
We are very excited about bringing a refreshing vibe and dining experience to the area which we feel will allow our clients to relax, enjoy themselves and just escape for awhile without the need to catch a flight or travel into the city.
Of course, this cosmopolitan lounge would not be complete without the sensual sounds of downtempo-midtempo grooves to set the mood. Bring an open mind as our resident & guest DJ’s provide an eclectic mix of musical flavors that will move your mind, body & soul.
Azul 17 specializes in contemporary authentic Mexican cuisine which essentially means that our recipes are made from scratch staying true to the authentic flavors of Mexico and our Executive Chef, Damian Portuguez, prepares dishes using the latest culinary techniques. We are proud of our vibrant menu and guarantee that you will find many unique Mexican dishes at Azul 17 that you will not find at your garden variety tex-mex restaurant. Some of the contemporary cuisine you will find on the menu include a variety of tableside prepared guacamoles, sushi grade ceviches (citrus marinated seafood cocktails) and delectable small plates served family style. They are complimented by the authentic flavors and original recipes that Chef Damian learned from his grandmother in Mexico. Just like you would find in his grandmothers kitchen our empanadas, tamales, hand-pressed mini tortillas and desserts are made fresh daily in house.
Why Azul 17? “Azul” in English means “blue” which is the color of the Agave plant, the main source of Tequila and “17” is the owner’s life-long lucky number. Azul 17 is the vision of Owner, Julio Soto, a Cuban American and his wife, Lily Soto, who is from the tequila region of Jalisco, Mexico. Their vision has come to life as they incorporate their appreciation for culture and exceptional tastes in food, tequila, fine wines, design and music to create the ultimate dining destination. As true entrepreneurs this is not their first business venture however it is their first personally owned restaurant. For the past 10 years Julio & Lily have worked with other Mexican restaurants to gain experience and prepare for the opening of their own restaurant. They have owned a country western apparel store and still operate Lily's Latin Market on Dobbin Road in Columbia. They have always prided themselves in only using the freshest ingredients and quality products. The Soto's look forward to exposing and educating their guests about the cultivating and distilling of their collection of over 100 premium tequilas. You will find the number "17" throughout our offering, starting with our 17 fresh hand squeezed margaritas & international cocktails. Julio & Lily understand the importance of quality and that is why the Azul 17 Traditional Margarita is guaranteed to be the best in town because we use premium silver tequila, fresh hand squeezed lime juice and organic agave nectar! We also feature an eclectic wine list that has been hand selected by Owner, Julio, to pair beautifully with our cuisine.
As small business owners they are excited to finally provide a new hot spot in their community for dining, dancing, nightlife and a great ambiance for families & business professionals alike. The Azul 17 team of passionate professionals is dedicated to consistently providing our guests with superior service and a memorable experience that will only leave you yearning for more!
Mexican Cuisine our specialty, Tequila Lounge our distinction.
Birches is a dual-purpose neighborhood restaurant. On weekday evenings, it's a drop-by destination for treats from the wood-burning grill--hamburgers and pizza, available with foodie-pleasing toppings like chipotle aioli, roasted shallots, applewood-smoked bacon, and Gruyère. On Friday and Saturday nights, it's a retreat for savvy, grown-up comfort food--wood-grilled steaks and seafood, chicken Benedict, and a dream-come-true steak sandwich. Meal-spanning musts: the cobb salad and the all-fired-up chocolate cake. The space is cozy and the staff is superfriendly, but one caveat: The bill quietly creeps up.
"Our Cafe has a broad menu which starts with cappucinos, great coffee and pastries, includes scrumptious egg sandwiches, and bagels with cream cheese. Then for lunch you will discover fabulous homemade soups, vegetarian and organic items (from One Straw Farm). We also serve catered platters delivered as early at 7 a.m. We are locally owned and operated, and proud to be part of Baltimores' eclectic cityscape."
"This Euro-style neighborhood cafe serves the business and court crowd by day, and is a full-blown restaurant at night. Featuring seafood, paninis, vegetarian and sweets. During the live music in the evenings, you can find the local college students and the nearby residents using the wifi, dining with a date on the deck, and of course french pressing their coffee."
Super-deluxe crab shack on the water, family run and the quality of the food is noticeable in every dish.
Centro offers a variety of Spanish and South American tapas dishes. Extensive list of wine, sherry and port from Spain and South America.
As a cuisine, South Carolina low country cooking achieves perfect balance between delicacy and richness. In Baltimore, Charleston restaurant is the place to experience the magic of delicate ingredients in deluxe combinations, like heads-on shrimp with smoky tasso ham and buttery grits. The ever-evolving menu is a sophisticated but deeply pleasurable board of fare, always skillfully executed and flawlessly served. Every course is worth lingering over, savoring the intricate flavors of, say, Charleston's incomparable shellfish bisque while anticipating the upcoming plate of pan-seared duck breast in a Burgundy reduction sauce. And the new pri[vegetarian] fixe menu allows you to create your own three- to eight-course meal from a series of small plates, so you can pick whatever dishes look best to you without being a slave to the whole appetizer/entrée hierarchy.
The folks behind Little Italy's Aldo's offer something for everyone here in a stylish suburban setting: Mandarin duck rolls, entrèe salads, panini, shareable pizzas, deep-fried sea bass, and a terrific burger with lovely, lovely Gorgonzola. The fish of the day arrives either oven-roasted or Hong Kong style (whole and deep-fried).
From Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf, Norther Italian fare with small smoky and cheesy things in the big, brassy wine bar (Enoteca) and bigger meatier things in the somber dining wings (Osteria). Fritto misto for everybody.
Split into halves--table service or order-at-the-counter--City Café serves all your coffee needs, as well as pastries and baked goods (including a fine pumpkin cookie in the fall). The menu ranges from fancy dinner items like cinnamon duck to lunch fare like the very good hamburger to hearty breakfasts, if you can manage to get up that early. Plus after a while they remember your coffee order when you walk in. And at 8 a.m. that's very important.
Crepes; the French word for paper thin pancakes, are versatile and healthy. They can be eaten by hand or as a full meal. Make them savory or sweet, Crêpes are basking in the international culinary spotlight. The light dough makes crêpes perfect to adapt the filling to anyone's taste, no matter their diet, their age, or their cultural preference.
City crepes is located in the heart of Baltimore, only a couple minutes away from the beautiful harbor. While in historic federal hill, you can take your crepe and coffees away or take a break in the French-style cafe.
"The Set UP: Acoustic Guitar + Microphone.
Brief History: ashrf is a fusion of Middle Eastern & American cultures, merging Sudanese roots with his rock influence to craft an original and enjoyable sound. His music was labeled “Middle Eastern Alternative” by the Owings Mills Times.
He has performed since he was a young boy in Sudan, and began playing venues and events in the DC Tri-State area in 2003. He is always the one to call for original Songwriter Showcases, international festivals, and has been the featured artist at many musical events. Because of his simple set up, he is quick to begin on stage and easy on the ears.
His unique and captivating sound is always a crowd favorite. His many performances include the featured artist’s slot on the Fredrick County Public Access show called “Backstage Pass.” His cover of “Allergy” by ilyAIMY was played at a local college radio station in Tennessee. Poetic lyrics crafted into pentatonic scales provide the main ingredients for his music, and his falsetto is always the icing on his musical cake. All in all, he is an acoustic act not to be missed."
Bill is a unique and accessible soloist. His music grooves the body and delights the mind. His vehicle of expression is the 8-string touch guitar - an instrument that allows multiple part compositions. Essentially, Bill's left hand plays bass and his right hand guitar.
"There are quite a number of examples of bands and artists that have covered a Beatles album as a whole. Here’s a new addition to that category, being a classical guitar rendition of all the Sgt. Pepper songs, set in the same track listing as the original album. Instead of going for the easy way by picking the usual batch of guitar-friendly tunes, Croatia-born Krstic’s intention to try and re-interpret this classic Beatles album may be applauded with great enthusiasm. Although songs like Within You Without You or A Day In The Life are obvious choices to check on his talent and skills, his refined performances on all the tracks leave no doubt about that. He both ensures that all the original melodies remain quite well intact as well as takes in subtle melody snippets of his own, with versatile guitar playing - adding occasional Spanish flavours, an orchestral sound or a Third Man Theme-like sound in When I’m 64. Reportedly the first classical version of the Sgt. Pepper album – a hard act to follow?"

"The members of Expensive Hobby have been playing professionally in the Maryland area for years. These guys know what they are doing and love doing it. With a setlist comprised of fresh originals and classic/progressive rock cover tunes, come out and hear music played the way most of today's bands WISH they could play!"
