  • Aerport Rocking Chairs

"Aerport Rocking Chairs music takes influence from various styles, including rock n roll, jazz, funk, bluegrass, blues, and surprisingly, jungle. The drummer, Scott Shapiro, is an accomplished DJ spinning house/intelligent jungle for the last 10 years. Shapiro also has long standing London based record contract for his original jungle tracks. His back beat has lead this band to explore sounds unheard of in a rock band. He can also be heard singing some of the covers during live shows. Scott Sherr is the acoustic guitarist and lead singer with multiple credentials from his days at UCLA. His voice seems to get better with every gig and every song he writes. Its deep, rich tones with a raspy air are unique unto himself. The self professed driver of the bus, otherwise known as the bassist, is Joe Scalea. Scaleas style is as varied as his influences, building a sound that'll keep you moving and knock you over, if youre not careful. Rounding out the band is the lead guitarist, Dan Gohzansky, whos roots are purist American rock n roll. His lead style has been shaped by everything from the jazz and blues greats of the fifties, to the newest independents on the New York and Portland music scene. From clean to crunch, Gohzanksy is truly a versatile lead guitarist."

Free verse topics tossed from the crowd or live band karaokee; one never quite knows what to expect from this hard to categorize band. Funk soul groove acid jazz deep house blues just doesn't fit on a card. Their goal is to innvite the crowd to be part of the organic experience of performance art. Percussion and esoteric bass can also be found backing up the Funk Monkeys and the Cathy McLeod Project; synth guitar can also be found rocking Teacher's Pet. Come out and join in the fun."

  • Ren Rick Band

"Listening to the Ren Rick Band is an eclectic journey into the very heart of a soulful and deep-feeling musical experience. The journey begins with the precise foundation of the rock steady beats and rhythms produced by Larry Cookson's drum stylings and Mick's bass lines. As the songs build, intricate and stylish tempo's and leads can be experienced filling the musical air with heart felt solo's and fills...while Billy (Grimes) plays guitar....Maria Mando adds a unique warmth and somewhat Renaissance feel to the music with her mandolin.... while Gene Woods saxophone grows note by note into a beautiful accent filling the room and the songs, giving one the sense of being lulled into a romantic trance...all this cannot be more appreciated...then when one hears the almost angelic, slightly edgy song stylings of singer Ren Rick... with her rhythmic guitar playing (and a personality that literally lights up the room)her brilliant songwriting brings the audience into a world she has created in words and music. enjoy the journey....."
