Illustrator Okan Arabacioglu came all the way from Istanbul, Turkey, to attend MICA and work in and around Baltimore, and the city should be glad he did. As a full-time freelancer, he's contributed to publications both local and national, including City Paper, Urbanite, Decibel magazine, The Boston Globe, and Rolling Stone. Tonight, the Metro Gallery hosts an opening of his new show OUCH!, which "features the external expressions of paintings and drawings dealing with internal growing pains and hardships" and helps us ponder how we can relate to one another through difficult personal experiences. Pairing such a talent with such a heady theme should make for a thought-provoking, thoroughly arty night. (Laura Dattaro)
