The Maryland Historical Society Museum houses a collection of treasures and everyday objects which celebrate Maryland's history and diversity. Among its more than 200,000 objects are paintings, furniture, silver, textiles, quilts, costumes, needlework, ceramics, glass, dolls and toys.
Event exploring the civil rights movement in Maryland through personal recollections, voices and images of activists and everyday people. There will be a panel discussion and accompanying exhibition of Paul Henderson’s photographs. The panelists will discuss their personal affiliations and expertise with the civil rights struggle in Maryland in relation to the collections. Panelists Include 1955 Read’s Drugstore Sit-In Participant, Black Panther Party Defense Lawyer, and Writer for TV’s “The Wire”.
