Industrial Workers of the World screens Terry Gilliam's Time Bandits at Liam Flynn's Ale House.
Wobblies, as members of the Industrial Workers of the World are called, are good people. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, these radicals fought and died to secure weekends, safer working conditions, and better wages. They also inspired some great songs, like “I Dreamed I Saw Joe Hill Last Night,” about a martyred worker and organizer. Now, they are bringing you a screening of Terry Gilliam’s crazy-ass, dystopian, time-traveling midget flick, Time Bandits, at Liam Flynn’s Ale House. If you’ve never seen it, you must. And if, like us, you saw it ages ago, it is high time to see it again. Either way, as Joe Hill might say, don’t fucking mourn; organize your ass and get out to the bar to watch a great flick with some great folks. (Baynard Woods)
