If the name Duke Robillard is slightly familiar but you can’t place it, rest assured—he is not Ron Swanson’s jazz-playing alter ego on television’s Parks and Recreation. Robillard is the real deal. Over the course of more than three decades, he has recorded with American masters like Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, whose touring band he joined at the end of last year. But he doesn’t even need those dudes’ grizzled old voices to make you moan the blues; just listen to his smoking blues guitar and you’ll alternate between weepin’ and whoopin’. And for cold beer with your hot licks, you can bring your own coolers to this Baltimore Blues Society-sponsored show. (Baynard Woods)
