For all of you unaware, sleep is one of those habits scientists keep telling us is essential for human life. We at Baltimore’s Most ZZZ-est Weekly know some newborns and caffeine-addled students who would disagree, but it seems the medical community is standing its ground. Carroll Hospital Center hosts its annual Sleep Awareness Day today, in honor of the national week of the same name, and they’re bringing out the big guns: We’re talking gift baskets and light refreshments, people. Celebrators can attend a sleep fair featuring the latest and greatest in sleep technology (hypochondriacs welcome) and then doze off during a presentation on women and sleep. Registration is required for the presentation; pillows and blankets will not be provided. (Courtney Cousins)
