Current Gallery presents an exhibition of new work by photgrapher Kyle Tata. In addition to the exhibit, Current is also releasing a catalog of Tata's work.
Current Gallery is becoming a hotbed of photographic activity, what with their old school darkroom (Kids, that’s the place where we’d go make out in high-school photo class, amidst the smell of chemicals. You could also develop photos there.) and with a series of solo exhibitions where a photographer works with a curator to create an exhibit: a “Good Light” slide show in the gallery and a catalog of the photographer’s work. The last show, Elle Pérez’s Into the Woods series, was a great start, impressive both in its artistic ambition and journalistic documentation. Assembly Affect features the work of Kyle Tata, who uses traditional and digital photographic media to present his meditations on a version of the history of the form. Through June 16.
