  • The Contemporary Museum

This museum has one large gallery and one small and exhibits contemporary works that emphasize the interaction between art and diverse communities. Artist residencies allow the public to see the artistic process behind the final artwork. The museum also hosts visual arts classes, lectures, symposia, festivals, workshops, performances, and reading groups. In addition to the works at their Mt. Vernon space, the museum, community residents and artists create public artworks for unusual locations.
