Renowned hard bop pianist and composer Freddie Redd has moved to Baltimore. Redd is most famous for his soundtrack and part in the groundbreaking play and movie The Connection. We screen an excerpt tonight. Redd, an engaging soloist, has inspired many musicians, including Jackie McLean, Tina Brooks, Milt Hinton, and Louis Hayes. With internationally acclaimed bassist Michael Formanek, saxaphonist Brad Linde, and others, Redd celebrates the release of his new CD.
